How To Make A Gift Basket

Let’s Make a Gift Basket (Or Box)

Okay, so we’re The Pressie Box and we sell our gifts mostly in boxes, not baskets. But the term gift basket is so often used as a general non-specific way of meaning a collection of goodies, that we feel qualified in being able to make a gift basket. But one in a box, if you get my meaning.

So I’m here today to chat with you about making great gift baskets. So let’s start with how you should go about choosing things to put in them. If you know the recipient well, it will be easy for you to choose a few things they really love and add them. If you don’t, then is it just a matter of adding random or generic stuff like chocolate and a box of biscuits?

Sadly, no it’s not. I am sure we have all received gift baskets in the past with no particular theme or correlation. In our experience, it's important to put together gift baskets that contain a combination of items that work well together. Creating the perfect gift basket involves you thinking about themes such as:

  • Colour – are you wanting to make a basket filled with items the same colour? Or perhaps contrasting or with similar shades? Blue for a boy. Pink for a girl. Yellow for a dinosaur.
  • Usage – maybe make a gift basket which is for a specific use, such as to farewell an employee or to welcome the arrival of a new baby?
  • Recipient – your brother probably wouldn’t like an Indulge and Pamper Gift Tower, while your Mum might not really appreciate a Blokes Pack. So when choosing gifts to put in, think about how they will be received and tailor make one just for them.
  • Occasion Theme – always a great one. People love getting gift baskets themed around special occasions like Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Try to pick items which can be used during those occasions, as well as ones which co-ordinate with colours used at that time too.

By following a theme of colour, usage, recipient and occasion, you can relax knowing that your gift basket will be well received and your recipient will appreciate the personal thought that has gone into their gift.

If in doubt, The Pressie Box offers a comprehensive custom design service, where with input from you, we can tailor a gorgeous gift that your intended recipient will LOVE and talk about for years to come. Please contact us to discuss your ideas!
