*Father’s Day – Sunday 2nd September 2018*
The perfect time to honour every Dad who shows up for his children.
This blog post is a shout out to all the wonderful Dads, father figures and male mentors who have touched the lives of many: be it your own kids, step-kids, friends kids or your kids friends, your family, people you’ve mentored, people you’ve coached or just anyone you have given your time to. Thank you for all that you do and for being you. We appreciate your existence and the impact you have played in our lives.
So now thinking of your Dad, how will you show your love and appreciation this Father’s Day?
Here are 5 helpful tips to steer you in the right direction:
1 – Make him a beautiful card:
Simple and cheap but packs a powerful punch. Handmade cards are appreciated so don’t ever overlook this way of showing your love. To take it up a notch why don’t you write all the many reasons why you love him and appreciate him being around inside the card. This will literally make his day. #truestory
2 – Breakfast in Bed:
It tends to be Mum whom gets the comfort of breakfast in bed on special occasions and ‘just because’ so why not switch it up and let Dad enjoy breakfast in bed this time. Whip him up some bacon and eggs and a nice steaming hot coffee to start his morning off. He won’t be expecting it and it will make him feel like a King!
3 – Spend a day doing his hobby:
Father’s Day is about spending time with your ‘Dad’as a family. So why not spend it enjoying the things he likes doing such as fishing, golfing (or mini-golf) or bowling. You can make them inexpensive if you have a larger family or if funds are tight. For example – Fishing can be done down at the local wharf instead of heading out on the sea. You can then either eat what you caught for dinner or grab fish ‘n chips to celebrate the fun day. Either way spending time making more memories is a gift money can’t buy.
4 – Go for a walk or bike ride:
The perfect way to make more fun memories. Take Dad out for a walk or if he prefers to bike then do that. New Zealand has so many beautiful walking / biking tracks that no matter where you live I am sure you can find some beautiful scenery to be amongst.
5 – Send him a Pressie Box:
If you live away from your dad and you won’t see him on Father’s Day or you just want him to wake up to a nice gift that’s purely for him then The Pressie Box will definitely leave a lasting impression. The Pressie Box has a wide range of men’s gifts to suit everyone’s budget. Check out www.thepressiebox.co.nz for more. So there you have it, 5 easy and simple ways you can show your Dad how amazing he is this Father’s Day.
A big shout out must also go to all the Mum’s who have to step up and take on the role of Dad whether they chose to or not. It is not an easy job playing Mum and Dad, so today is also your day. You are more than appreciated for all that you do.
To all the Dad’s up in heaven. We miss you more than you know.
However you choose to celebrate Father’s Day, we wish you a very special day on Sunday 2nd September.
